To understand this post and whatever follows it, I recently traveled to Bahrain by car with the family during the Eid Holiday..
Now then, if you are going to take a roadtrip you must, I repeat, must travel with friends. With families it is just a bore, it might be fun, but after years of getting to know each other and taking roadtrips it gets boring, trust me no matter how much you love your family, it will get boring. Those awkward moments of silence you encounter in conversations with your friends mean nothing..nothing!..to the ones you will have in roadtrips. Plus, the conversations start to deteriorate from sharing news about your life, to coming up with interesting topics every 20 minutes, to remembering fond memories to this every 15 minutes of silence..
” Sooo..how are you? Good?”
“Pretttttttttty good!”
The silence continues..
That’s why I spent most of the trip sleeping, I did it with style though this time with the sunglasses. They’re a must with the sun making your tears boil. Now then, sleeping’s a bitch. You have to adjust yourself and maneuver your body in ways gymnasts can only dream of to avoid the sunny spots, ’cause you don’t want the sun burning half your leg during your sleep, and you have to smoothly lean the back of your seat to the person behind you without annoying them, ’cause you need to play it nice. Do it to the point where they’re annoyed but still too polite to stop you, so just keep it within the courtesy lean level.
To sum it up, don’t travel by car. People simply cannot co-exist inside a metal vesicle for more than 3 hours tops before they fight over who the Air Conditioner should be pointing at, which radio station everyone should be listening to, who should get down from the car to get junk food(It’s mostly toast and cheese) from the supermarket, or who should shut the fuck up.
End of transmission.
